About Melissa & Doug
Twenty years ago, we started our company in the garage of the home where Doug grew up — we had to be careful not to disturb Doug’s parents who were still living there! Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to move into a real office down the road, a building that actually has separate ladies and men’s bathrooms! Our philosophy has remained the same over the years–to make each and every customer a happy and permanent member of the Melissa & Doug family, while offering products with tremendous value, quality and design. We’ve always welcomed customer suggestions, and we continually strive to make improvements to our products. We’re honored by the faith you place in us and view it as our responsibility to continue to earn your trust in the years to come!

We love your products! We have many of your puzzles from the large knob shapes and farm animal puzzles to the smaller chunky block type puzzles of zoo animals, sea life and transportation. We are looking for a puzzle storage case that is wooden for them. Our friends have the wire rack and it’s difficult for their toddler to manage and not very attractive.
Can you make a large (to handle your larger puzzles) beautiful (colored or natural) wooden puzzle storage box with removable/adjustable shelves (to handle different size knob puzzles )and an anterior semi-circle cut out for little handles to pull out the smaller puzzles inside?
I can think of the design and I think you would sell them like hot-cakes! Just a thought. Your company is great!

First off, I want to say I just love your toys. We have a several of the food items and a few puzzles. My daughter just loves them. But, if I had to pick one dream toy I would just love to give my daughter, it would be the Multi-Level Solid Wood Dollhouse. She is three, and this would be just perfect for her.

Today while visiting a friend, she had just received your wood cookie set with cookies, icing and sprinkles. I am interested in a gift for my great granddaughter who will be 5 in October and wonder if you have a catalog geared to age groups. I was impressed with the quality of your product as well as the learning to be had from playing with the set, such as counting, colors, etc.
If you have a catalog I would very much appreciate a copy. My address is 6505 E. Paseo El Greco, Anaheim Hills, Ca. 92807-5012.

I manage the children’s department at a local department store. I don’t have any kids of my own but I am like a kid at Christmas everytime we get a new delivery. Especially the Sunny Patch toys. They are so well made, with attention to detail and the “fun factor” they are by far my favorite. Easy to sell something you believe in. I went in 3 hours early today to un pack and merchandise “my toys” and had a blast at work today. Thanks, Melissa and Doug! I wish there were jobs in the field to merchandise these toys as this would be a dream job. I found myself humming that song about “I don’t want to grow up…” another company, sorry but your toys ROCK! You know what kids like!!!

Hi, Just wanted you to know that I purchased your counting skills magnetic apples game for my 3 year-old grandson whom I have taken to “school” (called Nana’s school) to teach him counting skills. I had used an activities book’s suggestion of using cupcake liners – making different amount of dots in each, and using cheerios (my choce) to place in the cupcake liner. Well, it’s a little clumsy tha way, plus he was eating the cheerios. So when I was at GO BANANAS here in Ashburn, VA, I discovered your wonderful counting game. I love it because he can’t get to the little apples, it’s teaching him “magic” (the magnet), and he seemed to have fun while learning. We’ve only used it once (today), but I can see we will be using it a lot. I looked at your website, but have some things to do, so will “educate” myself later. I wonder, is it possible for you to tell me of any other products of yours that GO BANANAS might have to enhance his counting and learning the alphabet learning? Great job guys. I really enjoyed reading all about you. You’ve been blessed in your life – thank God. See ya’ – Margo

We have so many of your products I have stopped counting … and we love them all. The only thing I wish you would change is … IF you are going to have give-a-way contests why don’t you make the entry process easy like everyone else. Who has time to blog, twitter, post …. etc! Just let us enter each day with e-mail address and then we can start praying we win!

I teach in a Head Start program and have used many of your puzzles and other toys. I appreciate the quality and learning value. I recently purchased the Joey and Maggie Leigh magnetic dress up dolls. I am wishing that the girl doll had some clothing that fit her to allow her to be a firefighter, police officer, etc, rather than just girly clothes. Please take this into consideration. For now, I put some of the career clothing in the girl box…

I have many of your products and they have lasted with all three of my children. I recently purchased the play food cake set. Is there a reason this doesn’t come with a plastic cover like the pizza set? It really difficult to keep track of all the pieces. I have the same problem with two magnetic puzzle dolls. The princess and boy set with all the costumes. There is no cover to keep everything together. I will keep buying your products because I love them.

I totally agree. It’s hard to teach my little one to put away her dress up dolls and put them away, when I have to actually carry the box for her, so they don’t spill out. Love the dolls, just wish they were ‘stored’ better.

I was very excited after coveting your products over the internet for 2 years to finally find some of them at a toystore in Athens Greece where I live! And of course I went ahead and bought a few for my boys but naturally I needed more! Since I wanted to buy them a kitchen after extensive research I had to get them your deluxe kitchen, it was the best. What I want to tell you is that I bought it for 390 euros!!!!!!!!
. Just thought you should know how much your products cost in this side of the world because even though I could afford the steep price many others won’t. I don’t know whether you can do anything about this obscene mark-up but if your greek dealers tell you that your products don’t sell because they are too expensive keep in mind that they are just greedy!
Still a huge fan of your products

I use your puppets in Preschool Church Worship and love them. They are not too heavy for young teen volunteers. Looking forward to buying products for my grandbaby girls in the future.

Hi there! I absolutely love all your products, and have been a fan for 4 years – basically, since becoming a mom! I have two little boys and I can honestly tell you we have tons of your products, from the puzzles (at least 10) to the play food, to the lacing beads, to the alphabet stamping kit – and as a mommyblogger, I would love to do a review and giveaway on my blog! My boys, especially my youngst, who is almost 2, is very much into playing kitchen and cooking – my oldest loves the puzzles and stamps.
Please let me know – I would love to have a giveaway on my blog!
Thank you!
Loukia
