What’s your family’s New Year’s resolution? For guest blogger Adrienne (theiowafarmerswife), 2013 will be the year of gratitude. In a recent blog post, she shares how to create a special box with your child to keep track of blessings all year round.
Here’s a quick overview on creating a “Blessing Box”:
1) Have your child personalize a box (this really can be anything – such as a tissue box, shoe box, or our Decorate Your Own Jewelry Box)
2) Discuss the concept of a “blessing” and ask your child to brainstorm some things they are grateful for right now
3) Every day (or week), help your child document their blessings on slips of paper, which will then be stored in the box
4) At the end of the year, review these blessings with your child as a way to reflect on all you had to be grateful for throughout the year.
