Camp Sunny Patch honor counselor Joyce puts a cool twist on our Session 6 activity, Let’s Host a Talent Show!
Hi! I’m Joyce from Childhood Beckons and I’m excited to share my family’s spin on a fantastically fun activity from Camp Sunny Patch. My son is in love with jokes and all things comedic right now, so when I saw Stacy’s talent show activity, I knew just what we’d do. We’d have a puppet show comedy hour!

More Ideas:
- Make it a play date. Invite a friend to come over and join the fun. They can take turns or put on skits together.
- Make it an all-in-one act. Have your children interact with the puppets instead of telling jokes to the audience. The puppet starts the joke, and your child plays along using different voices. Or you could..
- Encourage audience participation. Although, you have to be careful of those wise guys that will beat you to the punch line.
Joyce is the mom behind Childhood Beckons, where she encourages parents to focus on their families and the childhood that beckons them. Her motto is “Childhood is calling my son to play and explore. And childhood is calling me to help him on his journey.” She enjoys discovering creative ways to play and learn and passing along her family’s favorites. You can find Joyce on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

I bet the show was as fun for Mama as it was for son! I love the shot of the animals in the audience viewing the puppet show. Adorable!
Such a fun idea to let a child put on a puppet show for their stuffed buddies and animals! I love that puppet theater! It would go great in our playroom (with the puppets, of course!). And his jokes are so darling! Thanks for sharing!
Bravo!!! This is wonderful Joyce, great job
oh, those jokes had me cracking up! I will be reading them to my girls. What a fun time. I love that puppet theater – have always wanted one.
