Rainy Day Craft: Paper Beads

Every the sunniest summer has the odd rainy day. To brighten days like these, all you need is a great indoor craft! So sit down and get in from the rain with this fun paper bead craft.  We chose to make bracelets but you can make a necklace, key chains, lanyards and more with these easy paper beads.

Every the sunniest summer has the odd rainy day. To brighten days like these, all you need is a great indoor craft! So sit down and get in from the rain with this fun paper bead craft.  We chose to make bracelets but you can make a necklace, key chains, lanyards and more with these easy paper beads.

You will need some great thin paper. Origami paper is a perfect choice. If you want to color your paper to make cool patterns, do it! Creativity is what crafts are all about.  You will also need a glue stick , scissors and either yarn, ribbon or a pipe cleaner to thread your beads onto. Pipe cleaners are perfect for bracelets.

Start by choosing the paper and coloring it if you want. Then cut it into long triangles.

Put a little glue on the colorful side of the wide end. Then start rolling, with the glue side out.

Art Supplies for Kids: Non-Roll Glue Sticks – Set of 3

Glue the inside of the small end, finish rolling, then hold the end in place for 30 seconds. That should be long enough for the glue to make a good connection. If your paper is having trouble sticking, grab a few clothespins and pop them on for 5 minutes.

After you have rolled the beads . . .

. . . make them into a friendship bracelet, necklace or anything else!
