Enjoy exploring water play with your kids!
-Valerie

During this crazy heat wave, the kids have been enjoying lots of water play! Water play is not only great for imaginary playtime fun, but it also helps to keep the kids cool! So when my girls asked to build a mini water park in the backyard, they didn’t have to twist my arm.

We found an old round sled from the garage, and filled it with water to use as a mini pond. A few pool noodles, while not necessary, added to the “water park” feel when arched over the top! They were held in place with bamboo skewers in the ground, and the holes of the pool noodles lined up over the skewers.

Clara thought these little Maritime Mates Boats from Melissa & Doug were just the cutest, and she could not wait to play with them!!

We thought maybe these little boats would like some passengers. I mean, what would a water park be without passengers, right?

So we took our bag of bugs for several fun-filled rides! The boats link together easily to form the perfect water parade. The girls loved using the spray bottle to make sure the bugs got wet on their water ride adventures. Of course, they managed to spray each other with water too!

There were lots of smiles and giggles! Isn’t that what creative play is all about?

Hold on tight, bugs! Weeeeeeeeeee!!! What sort of mini water park will you build? A water slide, a pool, or maybe a water parade?

Have fun!!
