We are experiencing a major heat wave, and one of our favorite ways to escape the heat is to go see a movie. My girls thought it would be fun for their stuffed animals to have a mini movie theater of their own. So we built one with our Melissa & Doug Unit Block Set!

Oh! Hello! Would you like to buy a movie ticket?

Perhaps you would like some popcorn too? Let me ring it up on my cash register . . . that will be $2.00, please.  (Wow, this movie theater is a bargain!!)

Word of this place has spread quickly. Almost all of the seats are filled!

The girls spent a very long time building and rebuilding their mini movie theater. They sold lots of tickets to every show!

We set the wooden crate that the blocks came in on its side as a movie screen, and used some crepe paper and bulletin board trim for the screen curtains. Shhhhh! The show is just about to start!

Now, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

You can build a mini movie theater of your own using our Mini Movie Printable–it includes a template for the popcorn box, various signs, and a cash register template too. Fill the bottom of the popcorn box with pieces of paper, and the top with bits of air-dry clay. Use a yellow marker for “butter.”

Have fun!!
