Here is a super simple gift idea for Father’s Day that even the littlest crafters can make–a hand-painted keepsake card! They are quick and easy to make. The trick is to use masking tape!
To make a hand-painted card of your own, fold a sheet of watercolor paper in half, then arrange masking tape on top. We chose to make ours say #1. I also taped down the entire card to keep it in place while my daughter was painting.
Next, put on some play clothes (or an art smock) and add finger paints! We love our Melissa & Doug Finger Paint Set! The colors are vibrant and the paint is the perfect consistency.
Encourage your child to cover the entire card front with paint. It is so much FUN!!
We are not afraid to get messy in this house! Thankfully, the paint washes right off of the kiddos.
Next, allow the card to dry completely. This can take awhile, depending on how enthusiastically your child loves to paint.
Once it is completely dry, carefully peel off the masking tape for an exciting reveal!
You can outline your child’s design with a marker, if desired.
Write a short message from your child on the inside of the card, then give to Dad on Father’s Day!
